How photo embroidery is made — from your photo to thread

Embroidered wall art of an eagle's head in layered white and grey thread

A photo embroidery portrait looks simple on the wall, but it passes through five careful steps in our studio. Here is what happens after you upload your photo.

1. Reading your photo

We start by studying the light. Where does it fall on faces? Which details matter most — a smile, a pair of spectacles, the pattern on a saree? A clear, well-lit photo with faces at least the size of a coin on your screen gives us the most to work with.

2. Digitising, stitch by stitch

Embroidery machines do not read images; they read stitch files. Our designer redraws your photo as thousands of individual stitches, choosing the direction, length and colour of each block. Skin needs soft, short stitches; hair needs long directional ones; backgrounds are simplified so faces stand out. This is the part no software can do well on its own, and it is where most of the time goes.

3. Your digital proof

Within 48 hours you receive a preview of the stitch file on WhatsApp and email. You can ask for one revision free — a warmer skin tone, a name added, a background removed. We never stitch until you approve. That promise is the reason people trust us with photos that matter.

4. Stitching and finishing

Once approved, the design goes onto our machines. A detailed portrait can take several hours of stitching, with frequent thread changes. Afterwards every piece is trimmed, checked under light and pressed by hand, and we send you a QC photo before it ships.

5. Delivered as a keepsake

Portraits ship in a hoop, frame or on a garment, 7–12 days after approval. Add gift wrap and a note in the cart if it is a surprise.
